If you shop, for groceries, for gas, for stuff…you can very simply help us build homes and hope for those in need.

Give Back Beyond raises funds for our Habitat builds with an on-going fundraiser through using Kroger Cards, read more below, start your shopping and you may just be paying forward for your next trip with Give Back Beyond.

What is it?
Kroger provides giftcards for non-profits via a program called “Kroger Cares” and these special cards are linked to GBBC. Trip participants distribute them to friends, family, and anyone intersted in helping out.

Instead of paying directly for your groceries and gas, you simply load money onto the cards. Kroger sends us a check for 4% of all the funds that are loaded on the cards (this is calculated when they’re loaded, not when the funds are spent). The person using the card gets the full value of whatever funds they loaded. (Ie: You load $250 on the giftcard. Kroger sends us $10. You still have $250 to spend.) Net, it’s free. And people can still use their Kroger Plus cards and any credit/debit cards they normally use.

These funds will help to pay for the Habitat donations our teams make to the affiliates we serve with.

Does this really work?
Yes. GBBC has been doing this for 2 years already. It’s been so successful that the program has been expanded to include all trips.

In 2009, Team Guat raised over $2900 – a good chunk of the $14,000 we donated to the Xela affiliate.

As the program grows, it’s a great way for past team members to support the GBBC program and stay connected to it. More than 1/3 of the money that has been raised for 2010′s trip to Romania has been generated by people who were a part of past trips and we expect the momentum to continue building.

How do I get involved?
Please plan to get a card for yourself and your friends and family. You can acquire a card through one of the Give Back Beyond participants or at any of our Give Back Beyond fundraisers.
